I'd heard rumors of it, always dismissed as pure fiction. But lo & behold it's true! Newell has built coaches measuring 47' in length.

They're never advertised as such...and because it's a coach we're considering, it's causing a high degree of anxiety on my part. (Can I legally register it ~ or even drive it in California...or other states? Will there be issues fitting in camping or storage spaces?)

I've attached the official sheet I just received. Am I courting disaster?
Brenda could go fulltime in that. WOW
was it a race coach? they deleted the washer and dryer.

Since you asked - I would not do it nor would I discuss it on a public forum. Russ
A 47' coach would not bother me................................................except if you live and have to register it in California.
Doesn't someone on the forum own a 47'er? Maybe he could contact you via pm.
I know it's only two feet ~ but I guess unless you're directly lined up along a 45' it just looks the same. For some reason I thought RV lengths were limited to 45' ~ but Newell's paperwork claims it meets all Federal standards. I'm fine discussing it on a public forum (it's not like it's easy to hide it going down the road, I guess! LOL)

As to the deleted washer/dryer...rather than putting in the standard stacking Maytag ones that Newell always uses...they put in the high end Splendid and then a separate dryer above it. Both are fully vented, so you can wash one load then dry two at one time I guess! I haven't yet spoken to the owner about it...but he has apparently built many Newells and I suspect there was an issue he wanted to overcome.

I found it very interesting that this coach also had all the large, opening picture windows installed "upside down" so the opening portion is at the top -- seated you see clearly while venting from the top. And this coach has more windows installed than I've ever seen in any coach! Light and bright is and understatement.

I'm just curious if many of the parks you stay at would be impossible with a length like this (not that we're expecting to go into any state or national park...but the private ones for sure.) I'm sure that steering tag makes all the difference with this length!
National and state parks are. Rey limited with these coaches. 45 or 47 13'3" height. I would look at the wheel base and the over hangs as these rigs are not very high in ground clearance and the extra overhang.may result in bottoming out. Just some thoughts.
the 45 foot ones are mostly 45'8"
