After a long trip we opened the door and the step did not extend all the way.  It just kind of hangs there - the bar/arm that attaches the step is dangling underneath but the motor is working fine.  There is a pin in the arm that looks like it may have broken or pulled loose.  I read where this is a Ford motor but not sure the motor is the problem since the arm is separate (not sold with the motor)... any ideas how to reattach it and where to reattach it?
Looks like the pin just fell apart. New pin should attach to the hole just above it. Might be able to use a regular bolt with lock/nut? Make sure there is enough clearance for the bolt head and nut.
Tractor Supply or any place that has a big selection of bolts may have a similar pin.
And wear gloves that is one finger pinching son of a gun!
Forest: just for my clarity, does the bolt go through the empty hole on the gearbox that is just below the square drive looking thingy in the photo?
pairodice,
It appears that the rocker arm is missing. All I can see is the "push arm'.
Kind of hard to tell from the picture but is the rocker arm under the gear case? You can see it looks like a wear area around the hole.
But you could be right Steve, the arm might be missing. Trying to do this from my (not so great) memory since I'm Newell-less.
Here is what mine looks like.

My mistake...The rocker arm is there.
You may be missing some parts.....   Attached is the Step Motor Assemble Diagram from the Kwikee Step Manual #874.  Hope this is helpful.  Jerry B
Awesome! Thank you guys so much! Jerry I appreciate you taking the time to upload the pictures, that really helps! I think the arm may be missing but will look at it tomorrow.
I ordered a part for the Kwikee step from Amazon that should be in today:
