Folks, I do engineered wood in coaches. If you want some LVT, I have up doing that product a year ago. Mannington Adura was the best material for that, however.

I have had it in my Newell for three years with zero issues, except the one caused by installer miscalculation :-)
Richard did you use the self stick type?
I focus on engineered wood. Not as much floor prep to get the surface smooth so imperfections do not telegraph thru.
Is it possible to install tile throughout a coach of 2000 vintage? The forward slide has the drop down floor and the bedroom slide does not. I talked to Jacob who Ernie recommended for tile. He has never done an entire coach only bathrooms, and is currently doing some research for the job.
What kind of thickness is allowed for drop floor and under sliding booth, sofa, and walls?
Mike, Before you think about tile...be sure to check the weights on your axles. If you have 365s on front, you might be ok...if not...I bet it would be an issue. A lot of the coaches that are our vintage (with generators in front) are near the maximum weight limit of the front tires.
Don't wanna bust your dream...but would rather you consider it now than later.
You are spot on in your comment about being sure to weigh your coach before adding more tile. My coach is a 2007 with 365s on the front and when I have full fresh water and fuel I am within about 175 pounds of being at my max weight on my front driver side tire. I had the chance of having tile installed throughout but had to just have the carpet replaced for I would have gone over my max tire capacity, even with 365s. I met a few people at Newell having tile installed throughout their coach and the first thing I asked them was if they had weighed their coach before adding the tile. I got the "Deer in the Headlights" look. Then they replied that Newell was installing it so it must be OK. I know my coach when it was originally built only had 315s on the front and there was no way it could have been meeting its tire capacities - unless of course you were traveling VERY light. I am the 2nd owner and Newell installed the 365s before I bought it from them.
Tile weighs about 5 pounds per square foot. That is something to consider when installing. The Newell that I installed engineered wood in, I believe we used 3/8 wood.
Mike, you should have a conversation with Richard. I have and I seriously doubt that you can install the tile in such a way that the HWH floor system will work with tile, leave alone wood flooring, even engineered wood flooring is doubtful. There are serious issues involved and Richard has the most knowledge. I have talked with Newell and they will not touch it.

Hmmm...I did it.
Kiln dried and prefinished Expresso Oak 5" wide planks, 3/4" thick from Lumber Liquidators....glued and nailed at an angle to sub-floor. Did not have to raise the sub-floor either, it met the Marble perfectly for height....that is why I went for the 3/4" thick too...
Takes some skill and observation of the mechanism.
Did the drop down floor section first and dropped it , then came around the opening and matched the planks for pattern. Went for a header board at the end towards the driver seat both ways to give the floor stability and something to "hook" into..
Left a 1/8" gap all the way around the moving part for expansion if needed, and sanded a negative angle on the stationary planks along the length of the dropdown section so that when the movable part comes up. it meets it nicely from below with no binding.
Did the lounge from the kitchen/fridge all the way under the dash and replaced the carpet in the bedroom the same way after removing the bed support to make things easier.
