Hi every one, I am new to this site. I am looking at buying coach #588 doses anyone out there have any info on this coach I know it has some body damage but nothing serious. Listed as 68000 mile coach My wife and I are full timers any help would be great thanks
It was owned by one of the members here on NewellGurus but he hasn't posted since 2015. I believe he had owned it since about 2010. Check out Username Lance. The listing on http://nationalvehicle.com/130610 shows 87,000 miles which is pretty low for 2001. It was listed in March of 2017 for $215,000.

I have been talking to a guy in Reno that is selling for has boss ! They have it listed on crags list Reno. The asking price is 125.000 there is some body damage on the right lower side the coach is purple silver and black he is telling me it has 68.000 miles my only concern He is telling me his boss is out of town tell the 4th and needs a 10.000 deposit to hold it just trying to get as much  info as I can
just a caution.

1. i would not buy a coach until i see it.

2. a holding deposit of 10k is crazy from my perspective. you can buy a 400k house with 3-5k earnest money, so something is fishy.

3. there have been a number of craigslist scams with newells. not saying this is one, but mileage not matching and a huge deposit up front raises some red flags.

4. be careful

my two cents worth

That would make me nervous also. Ask him for the VIN then let me know what they have to say. Incidentally, in 2014 #588 had 75,000 miles on it and the ad on NationalVehicle.com lists 87,000 miles.

I certainly would not send anyone $10,000 to hold a coach for me.
I would not send a deposit. It will not sell before the 4th if it is legitimate deal. Go look at it first. Make sure title is clear then make financial arrangements. IMHO
Just for kicks and to pass the time, why don't you ask the seller for a copy of the "full inspection recently completed by a third party".

Since there is no roadside emergency involved with this thread, I am going to move it to the Coaches for Sale section.
Thank you for the input he did send me and copy of the title and and inspection report. The last 3 digits of the vin were 588 the report was for last year I asked for pictures of the body damage and of the codes on the tires witch he sent me the 10,000 is what raising the red flag. I told him I would fly out on the 5th and if all looked good would do the deal.
Check your PM's.
CAUTION! CAUTION! CAUTION!  More than a year ago when I was on the hunt for a Newell I inquired about this coach 588; the seller told me that the coach belonged to his client who had passed away.  He (Lee) lived in Florida, said the coach was in Reno.  They were asking MUCH more money for it then, something upwards of $200,000.  He seemed very elusive and getting information from him was like pulling teeth.  Something seems somewhat wrong with this entire scenario.  That being said, it would be very interesting to set up a look-see in Reno.  Bryan
