This is a common problem that has been "fixed" using different materials.  I give Ashley Pardue credit for finding an o ring that has resulted in both his and my sewer connection not leaking a drop.

You can source the o rings at:

or

Installation tip:  Coat the o ring with silicon grease and stick it on the stationary side of the Dupree sewer connection.  Bring the hose side up and tighten lock ring.  Lock ring is a little hard on the first connection.

I will report back on the durability of the o ring.

Hope this helps someone............................
If it does not drip, it will help me! Ordering today.

Can I assume there is no gasket on the hose side connector?
Thanks Mike
Nothing on the hose side connector.
Awesome! Mine is leaking also - will order it today!
I added the o-ring as well, but on the hose end. I set the o-ring in a bed of silicon and attached the hose with only a partial turn of the locking collar while the silicon "set" leaving some compression of the ring to seal with a full turn of the ring. It has sealed without leaks since last spring.

If I had to do it again, I would follow Steve's approach.
What holds it in?
Note that the Amazon url gets you a unit of 10.
During our travels in "The Rolling R Ranch" we met another Newell owner who gave me a suggestion which fixed the sewer hose leak problem.  Before implementing his solution, I carried a supply of Dupree foam rings - at least 6 to 10 of them.  Would change them out as needed, but the new one never lasted very long.  His suggestion:  Do not remove the old ring, just apply another one directly to the old one.  When it leaks again, apply another.  This works great!  I think after the third ring I never had another problem for the remaining three years we traveled in the Newell. I am certain when we sold our coach I had/gave the new owner my supply of foam rings - don't recall it I explained the proceed to him.  (Sorry, Paul.)
I recently replaced both Dupree valves with no problem. When I bought a new discharge hose I found the connections were a different style.  It seems I heard of a conversion to the new style hose but can find no information on it. Any information would be appreciated
Many of us have created our own Dupree to Valterra conversion solutions.
