hi all,

thought i would get some group wisdom.  getting ready to change my slide seal next week i hope so i went to put the front slide in.  no go.  floor goes down, then i can hear the pump running but no go on coming in.  for grins i tried the bedroom slide and same thing.  floor goes down but it does not come in.  nothing binding and the slides dont jostle or try to move.

i did change the extend hydraulic solenoids for both front and rear slides but i am sure i got the electrical connections right.

i am going to do some more troubleshooting over the next couple of days, but thought i might throw it out to see if anyone has had the same experience

thanks

got to be something to do with the hydraulic solenoids for both front and rear slides that you change
On mine there is an electrical sequence and if the unlock solenoid does not unlock then the slide does not move.  Try hitting the switch to extend and then retry retract.
Have you checked the fluid level?
i did try recycling. mine does not put the pins down in the extended position.

the fluid level is about an inch below the dipstick with the slides out. so the tank is about 2/3 full with the slides out

Had that happen on 551 and it did not have enough juice from the engine battery to pull the slides in. I started the engine, had it run for a minute, alternator driving 14v into the chassis system, kept engine running and they went it fine afterwards. Just a thought....
Tom, did you change out the solenoids before or after the problem?
i changed the solenoids after the slided crept out. before this.

but i did them a couple of months ago so my memory of the sequence is dim

tomorrow i will make sure the solenoids are plugged into the right cables.

and if need be i will swap some solenoids around

thanks

Occasionally I have the floor drop (only front slide has movable floor) but no slide movement.  My fix is to stop and let the coach seek three point travel height again.  Relieving any frame stress does the trick.  I have no idea how the bind occurs in such a short period from starting the retraction process.

Maybe you just transposed the two solenoid plugs . It's usually the the simplest things that cause the problem. Good luck
