Any ideas what this lever is for. It’s tied into the air system. This is on a 1996 45ft model. Thanks
Could be used to activate your trailer air brakes separately from your coach brakes. 18 wheelers have a similar lever, helps them to prevent or recover from a skid.
Very loud train horn
It does have the train horn option. I tried moving it but did not notice any difference. When I turn the gate valve on it blows, maybe that will regulate the horn it didn’t seem to throttle it back, but I will try again.
Thanks for the replies
Does it have an air brake connection for the towed vehicle? If so, I think Forest has provided the answer.
It is for trailer brakes on a trailer but could have been changed into a train horn. It is for a trailer you should have a separate valve on the dash to charge the trailer. Hope it helps.
Thanks for the replies. I do have a little air fitting, does this look like it is for a trailer? And what type of trailer has air brakes. All the trailers I think of have electric brakes.
Heavier trailer tend more toward air brakes than lighter trailers. Also, some cars that are being towed are equipped with air brakes.
my coach was set up with an air brake port for a trailer. it had constant air at it. when i first hooked up my air brake for my car it skidded....ha had to replumb it to the brake system at steve bares shop
