So it looks like I have a code indicating a vane failure. After reading the detroit tech manual it seems maybe I have a bad egr actuator that is not 
moving the vane this causing the code.

Anyone dealt with this?

Hmmmm Thanks Richard, never thought about that!
Since I dont have to do smog I'll consider that.

Turns out that my vpod is the culprit and not the acuator. Scheduled for repair in a few weeks.
