Hello Everyone,

We are recently the proud owners of coach 1242. We also own 606 but after purchasing we decided a steerable tag and as was enough of reason to spend the extra $. We purchased in Dallas area and live North of Kansas City so we had to stay the night at Newell Headquarters. Wish we could have had a factory tour but maybe next time. We are thrilled we are decision to purchase Coach 1242 and look forward to the many adventures across the country. We have 3 young children so we thought this would be great investment in spending time as family and having fun as well.
Whitty,

Welcome aboard! Congratulations on the coach! (Or should it be coaches?). Be sure to change your signature to show the the year of your coach. You can also add what you want to be called Smile

The guys at the factory are great and will help you or point you in the right direction 24/7.

You will find a wealth of knowledge on the forum and the gurus that frequent this corner of the internet.

Enjoy!

Bill

Thanks Ron! May have to take you up on that some day. We make frequent trips to TX since that where both my wife and I families live and we grew up there so we pass you on I-35. Appreciate the welcome and offer!

Ron, quick question. I see you own Coach 800 and it’s a 2007. How do I own Coach 1242 and it’s an ‘08. I know they didn’t produce 400+ coaches over 2 yrs. where there some numbers skipped?
That is an easy one Matt. When Newell started giving a sequential number to each coach in 1983, they had already built 383 coaches but they started over with 001. During the 2007 model year, Newell decided to compensate for the undercounted coaches by skipping coach numbers 817-1199. So #1200 would have normally been #817. So that put them almost back on track number-wise for a while. I saw almost because Newell also skipped coach #666 (based on superstition causing folks to not want #666). It also didn't fix the count for long because in 2010 Newell skipped #1300-1399 (again for superstition, same reason many building skip the 13th floor). Most recently when they were getting the 2017 p50 major restyle certified, they started the numbering of the first p50 model at #1600 and continued to build 2020P models. When they got the certification, the last 2020P under construction was #1565 so they skipped #1566-#1599 also.
Micheal, This is great info and I very much appreciate the info!
Michael, what you are trying to say is that the numbers really don’t matter lol...
So what are you going to do with #606? My wife and I are looking at purchasing our retirement RV and Newell's have been on the radar since this past Thanksgiving. The Newell blip on the radar screen is very bright!

Looking to sell my 2002 Newell coach 1630.
Two slides, all the standard Newell luxuries (aquahot, two in carriage central ac units, marble flooring, all doors operated by air, toilet air operated) 5kw generator that slides out of the front of the coach. Stored in doors most of its life has barely been used at all. 60,000 miles. All service has always been competed by Newell. Has all the bells and whistles. If you have questions just ask and I can answer.
Willing to make someone a heck of a deal roll
Down the road in a Newell for the price of a regular ol motorhome.

Hope this helps!
Pam
Hank,

We are planning to sell #606. When we bought we had no intentions of selling and I scheduled some repairs w Newell. The front driver slide pins are not extending or retracting on there own, the vent fans motors are both not working, and I wanted LED headlights installed. I have an appointment w Newell the middle of May to have all these items fixed along with a service on engine, generator, air system and all other systems that may need service. I decided after we bought Our newest coach to keep this service apt and have Newell do all the work. It will make me feel better as seller and I would suspect the buyer would appreciate that as well. That being said, I suspect end of May before we actively list the coach for sale. It’s a quad slide, front door entry and 150k miles. I will post a much more detailed listing once we are ready to actively pursue selling the coach. I will let you know when we do so and appreciate you inquiring.
