hi all,

thinking my amana fridge might have bit the dust. compressor buzzes, then tries to start and doesnt. could be a bad start relay, but no one has one locally. my door panel controls dont work and the icemake/water inlet solenoid has been slowly leaking and is all corroded.

i bought a relay kit but of course after driving to calgary to get it and having jim ellis make me a platform to get it out.

clarke, forest and i took the fridge out and didnt get anywhere.

with 3 people it isnt too hard, but we didnt take it all the way out. just rolled it out on the platform and pulled it forward so we could get behind it.

so.. i know a number of you have replaced the fridge, what exact fridge did you put in? and how did you anchor it? the amana has wheels that screw down to push it up against the top brace over the fridge. i suspect newer ones dont have that.

responses quickly please.

i have not measure how easy to get it out the spiral staircase air door yet

Richard replaced his ...

i am stuck in madden alberta without a working fridge. but stuck with friends.

Tom, if it is too large to go down the spiral stairway, consider taking out the emergency exit window in the living room. Please take and post some photos of how you got it out and how it was secured. If you cannot find one in Canada that will fit, email me the measurements you want and I will look here in California for a model that fits. Stainless would look good in your coach.
thanks chester. i am going to make one more run at repairing it. if not, then a new fridge is in order.

i have measured, it will fit through the door with the screen door removed and you take the doors off the fridge.

Hey chester which window is the emergency window. Ashley 589
Tom thanks for the info on removing the fridge. I got mine running on the jenny and shore power. The inveter/charger is not working right yet. I'm located just north of you outside of Red Deer. If you get a chance go to Drumheller, to the Dinosaur Museum, it is the greatest.

Ashley, the large window just behind the drivers seat, with the red locks, is the emergency window. My spiral stairs are different than Tom's, and the only way I could remove the Amana would be through the window.
Sorry to read this Tom
Hopefully you have an ice maker or a refrigerator/freezer in the bay!
