We have tree sap on our slide seals (maple I think) - what can I use to clean it without harming the rubber materials?

Hello Fellow Newell owners. I am in search of a board for my SCS  2 stage a/c. My board had a small fire and I can't get a replacement from the usual suspects IE; Flight Systems, Comfort Air or Newell without a core. Mine has a small hole burned in it and I've been told it can't be repaired. If anyone has an extra board I would be most grateful if you would sell it to me. I am new to the Forum and am looking forward to getting to know some of you. Thank you in advance......

I really want to attend the Bella Terra Newell Gurus rally but can't be that far from my business at that time of year.
I, along with a couple other Newell gurus, have been a member of RVillage online community for a while. They are planning their first ever Rally in Elkhart, Indiana near my home May 17-21. We are registered to attend. Since I work in Agriculture I have to stay in the area during Spring planting season so I think it will work. Here is a link to their web-site.

The word is that Allen Hesselbart (Historian for the RV/Motorhome hall of Fame Museum who bought my 1978 Newell) will be presenting there. The rally is near the Museum.

Gurus,

Just wanted to share my experience buying batteries for the coach.  You may have seen my post about the echo charger being mis-wired.  Well, since the two engine batteries were fully discharged and since they were more than five years old, I decided to buy new ones.

Several forum posts have recommended Tom at Trans-specialists.net. I decided to give him a try.

I could not be more happy with the decision.  I sent him an email and got a response in an hour.  We talked on the phone and he told me the availability of the AGM batteries that I wanted.  The price seemed to be pretty good....and the shipping was only $125.  (I had the batteries shipped to the local terminal and picked them up myself).  Tom, sent emails along the way to inform me as to shipping / delivery status.

Really a class act.  (The fact that he drives a Prevost can be over looked as far as I am concerned). Smile

If you are looking to replace your house or engine batts, give this guy a call.

Still trying to get 469 bought. Now there is a problem with the drive axle I called Newell they said I have a dana suspension it is out of square. The distance from frame to outer tire is 1inch greater on the passenger side. Newell says that the bolts can be adjusted side to side by turning the indexing washer. I have called 3 shops nobody seems to know anything about this help please.

I changed the oil and filter in the Perkins  gen set this week.  The first time I have done so since owning the coach. We only ran it 20 hours in 18 months,  but i thought it would be cheap insurance. I noticed the oil that came out was rather thick.  I replaced it with diesel rated 15-40. It took 10 quarts. The Perkins has always been a little sluggish to fire up, but after the oil change, it is very noticeable that it starts much easier. I was surprised when walking behind the coach that I was putting out a blue cloud ..... I suspect the old oil was straight 40 , or maybe ' modified" with STP ?

Unless we are boon docking  , I wouldn't / couldn't used this gen set in it's current condition. But then again, I only need it when boon docking.

Any thoughts?
