You also don't get to check the magnet for steel filings as with the Detroit plug.
But I really don't think that the amount of oil that might not drain makes that much difference as long as the oil is hot. It is impossible to get it all out. Even if a quart is left and you add 39 quarts of new oil it is still a good oil change.

the drain piece is cheap but the pump system is 2500 bucks. a little pricey.

Oops! The option I was looking at was the non pump fitting with a hose.
