Puck lights - VinceD - 08-19-2014

I would like to change my old 12 volt incandescent lights to modern LED lights. Has anyone done this and where did you get the replacement fixtures? I do not want to just plug in a LED in my old fixture. I want to replace the light fixture completely with a very bright LED replacement.

Vince, if you will use the search function using LED lights, there is a substantial amount of information on these lights, including lights for the back of the coach. Tom has even posted where and what to buy and how to install them. Good luck.

vince. on my coach there was like 70 or so of the puck lights. i took out the reflector, experiemented with led round lights and they look great and wayyyy cheaper. to me it does not make sense to spend the money to change the fixtures.

Great information. Thank you both.

I will keep searching to find replacements. I do not want to keep the existing fixtures.

Vince, if you are looking for really bright lights, here are a couple of 12 volt puck lights with a high density of LEDs.

Hi Vince, For one of my applications I found a 115 volt fixture that I liked and modified it to accept LED bulbs.

Here is another option... They carry several different models http://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/surface-puck-lights/led-product/1115/

I just received an email from superbrightleds.com offering "10% off all LED lighting products and accessories through 9/1/14 when you enter promo code: LABOR14".

I changed all 70 of my puck lights by adding led bulbs to them. Pretty cheap since I got them for about $1 on ebay. I did have to try a few since the pin diameter and length didn't work on the first couple I bought.
If you do change the fixtures make sure you get the wire polarity correct. Leds are polarity sensitive and will only work the correct way.
