I have been all over the internet trying to determine the maximum engine parameters for my DDEC iV. I am trying to set up the alarms for my Silverleaf: coolant, oil and transmission maximum temperatures; maximum rpm and speed; minimum volts and anything else that might be appropriate. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Just in case someone is interested, I have reconfigured the data and gauges shown on my VMS, and have repositioned my Asus 10.1" tablet for maximum visibility through the steering wheel. I fabricated a small aluminum frame to hold the tablet at a higher level. Attached are photos of the frame, the VMS gauges, CoPilot GPS, and Microsoft GPS.

This is an update on using my Silverleaf for the first time on a trip. During this last week I have traveled about 2,200 miles in my Newell and it has performed flawlessly and a pleasure to drive. The one exception is a relay that went out on my front a/c. Sent the control board to PA to be rebuilt. Now as to the VMS, the engine water temp. is almost always 188 degrees, the transmission 192 and the engine oil 182. There is very little variation throughout the day even on hilly terrain. This afternoon I crossed the 8,000 ft. Raton Pass. I purposely left the cruise control on, set at 65MPH, and I did not have to touch a thing. The transmission shifted automatically when needed with no lugging or over revving. When I first started up the mountain, the water temp. jumped to 250, but immediately went down to 199 as soon as we started up the steep grade. The transmission maxed out at 205 and the oil stayed at 195. Coming down the pass, the Jake held the coach and Odyssey to 65MPH and max RPM of 2,300. Applied the brake only once for a few seconds. I am very pleased with the information that the VMS provides and it seems to be much more accurate than the analog gauges.

Yes as you stated the older one is a little flaky with USB. We are looking at replacing the one we bought from you several years ago and wanted to know what you purchased? Have model number and any info on the one you currently have?

Pam try calling Silverleaf support before you replace it. A few years ago I had a similar problem and the tech told me to change a setting using the dip switches inside and it worked much better.
