#652 Triple Slide 40' 6" 2003 SOLD - Fulltiming - 01-30-2015

Unusual 3 slide 40' Newell. Valid slides, Independent Front Suspension.  I hope the $495,000 price is an error since that seems higher than most 2003's listed lately.

It was definitely over-priced and I called Marathon who had it listed. The guy there said it has water leak issues and they told the customer to come pick it up, that they were just storing it for him. How bad could the water issues be? We missed one 2005 40' coach that Panterra in Holland, Mich had for sale. If anyone sees any other 40' models, '03 and up, let us know. However, #1415 is too high, even at $800K.

Gary, I am curious. Is it the overall length of the coach that keeps you out of sites you want, or the actual ability to manuever into the site? I would have thought the steerable tag would allow you to get into any spot that a non steerable 40 could get into.

Richard,
Manuevering with the steerable tag is a breeze. Love that feature! It's the length that keeps us out of places we used to frequent such as more remote places, some state parks, Mexico and a lot of parking sites in older RV parks. The newer and reconfigured parks are usually more spacious. Table Rock was fine for example. Boyds here in Key West where wer were for the month of November very crowded and tight. . Bluewater Key RV Resort where we are now and have been since Jan 1 is also big rig friendly, but expensive too. Like Table Rock, Bluewater Key is all owner lots and the owners rent when not using, thus fewer rentals in the winter months but lovely location. Sorry we missed a shot at the 2005, 40' that was at Panterra in Holland, Michigan.

Gary,
What items in the 7 foot shorter coach would you be fine without? I know when I gave up my 96 no slide for the 04 4 slide the only thing I accomplice was having to talk louder with the same furnishing parked and less room when moving.

RE: #652 Triple Slide 40' 6" 2003 - nuevomex - 02-08-2015

Richard,
That is part of the problem, we are reluctant to give up anything. However, we do not have bath and a half so wouldn't have to give it up. Of course we love the 4 slides but would give up 1 or 2 of those but not all. Would have to think about what else willing to "sacrifice" in order to get to a shorter coach. Might give up dishwasher but not washer/dryer. Would rather have a longer Newell than a shorter anything else! Ideally, shorter Newell, same year or slightly newer model would be interesting and #1417 is out of range. Picky, picky, picky!

RE: #652 Triple Slide 40' 6" 2003 - WRVAlpine - 12-06-2018

Dec 5th 2018 down to $179K. We live in Indiana, not a far drive.
1. Water leak and all, anyone know the history on this coach?
2. Is a 40' not common? Actually 40'6" by the vin?
3. Being completely ignorant of Newells, any particular thing we should look for?

Thanking you.
