electrical shematics ? - kyleb - 05-20-2015

Hopefully this won't be the dumbest question asked, but here goes -
Are there any electrical schematics available for my coach?

Over the years, there have been some electrical modifications - some of which I'm sure Newell wouldn't have authorized.
Would be nice to have an idea what is supposed to be there before I go poking around.

Thanks!

Not a dumb question at all.

I have not seen a full set of electrical schematics for a Newell of that vintage. I have a 1992 and when Newell was trying to sort out the alarm system, one of their more experienced electricians had a small spiral notepad in his pocket where he had sketched out wiring diagrams for some of the systems on earlier coaches.

I was told there were no schematics available for my 99 . No air, no electrical, no plumbing. For me, this is one of the big negatives of owning an older Newell. I will assume they're doing better with the newer models, but I'm not actually sure . I guess you'll just have to play detective or take it back to the factory . Posting a question on this forum will often lead to someone who has already figured it out . Good luck! Russ

Hey man; welcome aboard. I've yet to hear of anyone with a set of schematics. As I work on things I draw a schematic for that part of the system and save it for later reference.

This is part of the reason this group is so valuable; someone here will know something useful to help you when you have a problem. Your drive train is darn near bullet-proof as long as it's full of fluids and not overheated - do not overheat the engine. The vast majority of the problems are either electrical or pneumatic, so you best get skilled, if not already, with a voltmeter and rig up yourself a pressure test gauge you can insert into those ubiquitous little black tubes running everywhere. And then ask lots of questions here. Also, once you solve a problem please post your solution here so the rest of us can learn from your misfortune.
