microwaves are the most impacted by a modified sine wave inverter. and some battery chargers for power tools and any "sensitive" equipment. it has to do with how clean the power is (modified sine wave inverters are not very clean).

a fridge should be just fine on it. i have run my lenovo laptop on it for years in my 90 with no issues.

microwaves will work but with reduced power and sometimes a buzzing. some are more impacted than others.

The built in battery on a laptop helps reduce the impact of the modified sine wave inverters. I travel with desktop units and they are not as pleased with the MSW units. While they worked, I did find I had to reboot more often prior to changing out my inverter. Since installing a pure sine wave unit, I have not issues with my desktop computers.
