Smart locks and NEST - pairodice - 10-14-2015

Has anyone tried one of the smart locks on the coach to make opening the door easier?  it would work with the dead bolt when you leave but would still need to pull on the 'regular' door latch...

So we got the smart lock installed on the entry door after much ado with a locksmith and his son.  It works fairly well but still binds up on us.  The problem is that one of the barrel pins was shorter than the other one so the screws would not tighten all the way.  The other problem is that the inside bolt section is way too big for the door trim and I had to leave the door trim off (it's decorating the bedroom wall now).  I will either have to figure out how to cut out the door section to make it work or get another lock system... any ideas?

Can you turn the inside piece upside down? so it doesn't hit the trim.

No, As I recall I tried turning it upside down but the lock only works one way ... will look again... maybe I ended up with a different model... I'm about ready to just buy a Schlage lock again and forget it...
