Can any one help if the CAT C15 Fumoto Valve T205 needs the adapter?
Thanks, in advance, for your assistance.

John,

Thanks for your reply.  I had visited that site as well. I'm not sure whether I have Acert Model or not. I don't know what Acert Model is, or where to look for to see if have this?

RE: CAT C15 Drain Valve - Fulltiming - 02-12-2016

Sayed, coach 1229 was the first Newell with the Cat ACERT engine.  The next Newell with an ACERT engine was #1251.  Following #1251, all Newells with Cat engines used the ACERT engine.  ACERT was introduced to meet the EPA 2004 regulations for on-highway trucks.  They require ULSD fuel, allow for multiple injections of fuel during each combustion cycle, crossflow cylinder heads, wastegate turbocharger and cool air injection into the combustion chamber per Cat.

Your coach should not have an ACERT engine.

NOTE: THIS INFORMATION IS INCORRECT! SOME NEWELLS AS EARLY AS #801, A 2007, MAY HAVE HAD THE ACERT ENGINE.  I will update this thread as I gain more information.

Michael, thank you very much!
That is what I wanted to know. This is interesting as mine is 1237. So, they started with 1229 then skipped 1230-1250 and restarted with 1251, right?

From what I read about the problems about first ACERT CAT engines, I certainly hope mine isn't one of them!

RE: CAT C15 Drain Valve - Fulltiming - 02-12-2016

Correct Sayed. Newell put an ACERT into 1237 for testing purposes and went back to using their supply of pre-ACERT engines.

RE: CAT C15 Drain Valve - Bonanza Bob - 07-22-2020

I hope you are correct but my coach is $1247 and it has a C15 ACert engine in it so not sure they waited until # 1251 to start using the C15 ACERT's again.

RE: CAT C15 Drain Valve - Fulltiming - 07-22-2020

In many cases I have relied on information I received from Newell employees. I know that some of it has been 'approximate' or 'to the best of their memory'. I appreciate the information they have provided over the years but I try to always say (and didn't in this case) "No two Newells are the same and you should always verify any issues that are important to you regarding a specific coach." Bob, I have updated my information to show that #1247 has an ACERT engine. I suspect that if a customer specifically requested a non ACERT engine and they still had one in stock, they would have used it.
