1988 Air Pressure - rooster - 09-01-2016

I have stopped all the air leaks but, my air pressure stays around 82 pounds. This seems low to me. Do I need a new engine air compressor or is this normal for this model. I am used to 110 to 120 psi. Thanks Pete

Either your gauge is wrong or you have a problem, you should be seeing 110-125 psi when the blow off activates. Do you ever hear the pressure relief valve on the air dryer open?

Do you have dual tanks or just one? If dual, do both show only 82?

You should have 2 gauges on the dash, one brake gauge with 2 needles and one aux air with 1 needle. Are all three needles only going up to 82 psi?

you might have an air gauge back by the 6 pack in the engine compartment. if you do, check and see what it says

Thanks Guys. I will check tomorrow. It seems all three gauges on the dash show around 82 psi. There are two tanks behind the rear axle. I have not heard the relief valve release.

I would listen for leaks around the air dryer.

Went over this morning and located the guage at the rear compartment. Ran tho old girl for a while and the pressure came up to about 116 and the it popped off. It must have been having a bad day. I'm Happy Camper again. Thanks for your suggestions. I located a very slight leak in the left rear bag. Anyone have the part number for the suspensions air springs on the 1988 model year. Thanks Again. Pete

Don't know about your 1988 but my 1992 with a tag axle uses Ridewell 1003589447C on the front and drive axle and Firestone 1003588992C on the tag.
