Clearance Height - Fulltiming - 10-26-2016

OK classic owners, I don't find much information in my files that shows the height of the classics. I suspect that the clearance height changed between the coaches with roof airs and the ones with basement airs but there are vents and dishes on the roof of classics that add to the clearance height.

Anyone out there that has measured theirs?

I show one 1988 that listed the height as 11'2" and a 1976 with roof airs that listed height as 11'10". I know that from the mid 2000's through at least 2015, the roof height was 12'8"-12'10" with clearance height (top of air conditioners) of  13'3". The 2017 Newells are listed as 13'1" to the top of the air conditioners.

Any additional information would be appreciated.

i will tray and re measure my 2002 for fun. i went to get it emissions tested yesterday and had to lower the suspension to get it in without making noise to the emissions building. it was just the flex antennas but still a horrible sound to hear

I am 13'3", but for safety I assume 13'6".

I appreciate the information so far, if anyone else has measured their coach, the more data points I can add to my list. Any classics owners out there that have measured your coaches.

Many have antenna that are the tallest item but they will typically move out of the way somewhat. I have a spring base on my CB antenna which is the tallest thing on my coach so it will almost lay flat if pushed. It is not unusual for the satellite dome or the roof airs (if so equipped) to be the tallest hard clearance point on the coach.

Next time I have my wife wash the roof , we will measure it Smile We have basement air and a small sat antenna

I measured mine several times and kept coming up with 13' 6". I know everyone says it should be 13' 3"! But measuring is hard. Maybe sometime I will have the opportunity to drive under say a 14" garage door and then get on the roof and measure the difference. Until then, if it says less than 13' 6" I am not going under it! Our '82 is about 11.5' from ground to top of roof air.

At normal ride height, my 87 is 11'-10" to the top of the roof air.
