Air Activated mid entry door coach 660 - Rongripon - 01-06-2017

not sure if this is a major issue but it's gotten cold and the door will open as it should be when closing it, it's like it doesn't have enough pressure to complete the closing. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem. Air pressure looks good and the other systems work fine.

Hi Ron,
Give me a call I have 688 and have the same problem. My door take about 70 lb of air to close with smooth cycle. 865-712-5610.

Looking around the air system. It seems others have the issue. Newell stopped putting air dryer/filters in the door system because the were freezing and breaking the plastic bowl. I'm going to look into a air warmer/filter, much like the main air systems dryer/filter but smaller. Draining the tank for the 115v act filter and the one in the wheel well in front of the passenger side drive wheels. Other than that, not much else. Ron

I don't know if this helps or could even work on your more complex systems than my 93 coach has.

I relocated the output of my 120V compressor through a check valve into the inlet of the main air dryer for the engine compressor. Since I converted from the factory installed finned air dryer to a Bendix AD-9 I have never seen a hint of water in any of the tanks. It would be more complicated for you to do this since you have an additional 12v compressor. While parked my air consumption is quite minimal so I have never bothered to periodically start the engine and run the dryer through a moisture discharge cycle. If air consumption was considerable I would probably do this to ensure dry air.

What I can say is that the engine dryer really does its job.
