Looks good Bruce, give us an update on how the shake-down cruise goes!

Does look good. Might be a good idea to get axle weights again. Newells are built pretty stout, but
putting 1000 lbs 10 ft behind rear axle actually adds about 1500 lbs to rear axle load, and unloads front axle
bout 300 lbs.

Is that a Hydra-Lift Bruce?

RE: Bike rack - ron skeen - 02-20-2017

I have used racks on the back of all three of my Newells 89,96, & 2004. All have been drive on and I flat towed a truck loaded behind the ramp. All the ramp were built to haul either a Goldwing, ATV, RZR, or Golf Cart. I even thought about trying to haul a smart car. They all have been drive on which I could load and unload by my self with no help. I could  remove and installed the rack by myself. I will try to post some pictures.

Yes, I was going to post pictures but can't find

Reason I mentioned the weight on axle issue was that I had a single axle bluebird and made a rear platform for
my bike. Weighted it and was 800 lb over rated capacity. Probably not a big deal, but bluebirds are too heavy already.

No overbuilt . I did want hydralift but after looking em all over I liked idea of winch . If lift has issues just replace winch .

I think the best is roll on roll off. I have never had an issue with 3 different coaches and platforms. I use 3 ramps so my feet touch on both sides as I ride on or off. I attach the platform using three receivers so I can remove by removing 3 pins. I use 6 inch alum channels bolted to 2x2 sq tubing coming out of the receiver. I could remove the platform at one time or unbolt to sore in a small space. I hauled a 60" x 106 RZR which weigh 1300 lbs with no problems.
