Out of curiosity and looking to learn, any pictures?

We do have quite a collection of pads ( nylon maybe ) that our slides ride on. These can breakup and become loose and punch a hole in a slide seal. Please don't ask me how I might know that. Pads are available from HWH.

Aye! I keep forgetting about those Valids on later models. When did those come into play? Always curious about the other systems as well though, too.

First Newell with Valid Slides was #645, then #650 on.

Marc

Was there any rust or signs of water there? Is there a window above that bearing?

RE: Bearings - Yachts - 08-07-2017

There was some rust on the rails. I window above it.. probably hadn't been changed in 14 years
