Alaska 2019 - folivier - 02-17-2018

Cindy and I are starting to plan our Alaska trip for next year.
If anyone has done the trip please add your suggestions for what to see and do.
We'll be in the 26' LazyDaze so will be using gas and not diesel and our range will be around 300-400 miles Which may be more than we want to drive each day.
Anybody want to join us?

We are also heading to AK next year... glad to hear I am not the only planner. Smile

When are you looking to cross the border into Canada? We are thinking June 1... not sure how reasonable that is.

RE: Alaska 2019 - folivier - 02-20-2018

Haven't set a date yet. But let's keep in touch and maybe we can meet up somewhere along the way.

We are also interested in joining you!

Great! We can continue where we left off a few years ago.
It'll be fun to travel again with you and TLE.

Forest, we have very pleasant memories about our time traveling with you and Cindy. When would you plan on beginning the journey?

RE: Alaska 2019 - folivier - 02-22-2018

It's already started in my mind! Not sure but probably leave early May, probably right after Mothers day. I'm thinking of going through Salt Lake City then possibly shoot over to the coast and see the redwoods. Then maybe up to Vancouver Island for a few days arriving there around June 1st. We could meet up anywhere along the way.
But every time I look at the distances my mind just turns to jello! The Canadian border is barely halfway! But it'll be an awesome trip.

Forest, Mary and I are thinking seriously about joining you and Cindy on the Alaska trip.  Will talk more about it at Bella Terra.  Looks to be about 4500 miles one way. WOW.  It is certainly not a trip I would want to undertake by myself.  I think more the better and well planned out.

RE: Alaska 2019 - Land Yacht - 03-04-2018

My wife and I might be interested as well. On our boats, We had fun and traveled more safely when in a flotilla, and this sounds like a similar concept.

I guess we'd better schedule a planning session at Bella Terra. We'll be there May 5-11.
