Hi y'all - wanderingwilburys - 04-18-2019

Hi y'all,
We're Roscoe & Geni Snoeberger,
We retired a little early (59) to find adventure on the road! I was a local Government water/wastewater, operator/inpector. My wife an NASA accounting specialist. We have been fulltiming  now for 2 years and have really enjoyed it so far! You can check is out on our blog http://wanderingwilburys.blogspot.com

We currently have a 2015 25' ultra lite travel trailer made by forest river, towed by a 2015 Chevy Silverado. We met Clarke and Elaine Hockwald http://whatsnewell.blogspot.com working with them in 2017 at Yellowstone National park, they own a Classic Newell in fact a photo of theirs is on your header page. (Top right). That's where we were introduced to NEWELL, had never heard of it before then. Have been in many other so-called high end coaches but they never matched the quality of a Newell.

Well we are slowly looking for the right classic Newell coach. This web site is a wealth of information and history of NEWELL coaches. Thank you!

Welcome aboard!

There are TWO search engines on the forum. I find the Google custom search to help me better than the one embedded in the forum software in the black banner.

Glad to have you join us. So many potential RV owners have never heard of Newell that it is a blessing every time someone finds this site.

Hope you find the Newell of your dreams.

Welcome Roscoe & Geni and good luck in your search for a classic! Michael Day (@Fulltiming) is our resident historian and knows all about when options became available through the years.

Thanks so much!

Hi Roscoe and welcome to the group! What kind of budget do you have in mind? What years are you considering? ‘Classic’ generally means 20 years old (right?)... wow, that means our 1998 is in there now...

BTW, if you want info on Wanderlodges (great coaches also) let me know via message or we can chat on the phone. You might consider Foretravel also as they have great build quality but I’m not a fiberglass fan any longer...

RE: Hi y'all - whatsnewell - 04-19-2019

Newell Classics, like mine, are 1989 and back. My body style is the Classic. Yours may be considered 'vintage', but not 'Classic' in the Newell sense of the word.

RE: Hi y'all - Fulltiming - 04-19-2019

Newell Models
Pre 1990's are designated as Classic body style.
1990-early 2005: Model 2000
Late 2005-mid 2006: Model 2000i
Late 2006-2013: P2000i
2014-mid 2017: 2020P
Late 2017-Current: p50.

I still think ours is a classic :-) ...
So basically if it has a bumper then it’s a classic?

RE: Hi y'all - HoosierDaddy - 04-20-2019

Yes the chrome bumpers are the most obvious Classic charactistic. They feature aluminum body panels on the front and rear . 2000 models and newer went to fiberglass “end caps”
