Series 60 Tensioner - Richard - 06-21-2019

If you have the short serpentine belt, also identified by the alternator and AC compressor on the left side of the engine, then the Gates part number for the belt tensioner is 38501. Gates has about 20 tensioners, this one has the correct width of pulley.

And this should be the belt for that application NAPA 080565

Hi Richard, did you already have a tensioner on your coach? Mine does not but would love to have one! I fought that belt(s) for two years and finally won - found out the alternator was set back about 1/4” or so and it was binding the belt causing it to wear really fast...

This part is for coaches with a serpentine belt. It does not apply to engines with a v belt system

Awe... :-( Now that mine acts right it’s not that big of a deal to keep it tight. It went 2000 miles with no problems... thanks for the info though!
