Rick,
The steering column and switch gear on our classic are GM components. The switch can be accessed by removing the steering column cover . I am not familiar with newer models , but it might be similar .

If it is like my 1992, and it may not be, the high beam switch controls a rod that goes down almost to the floor. The dimmer switch is mounted to the steering column and mine is from a 1989 Chevrolet Truck. I believe it is part number 26019660. On mine the adjustment of the rod is critical. When mine started failing. I lost all my headlights and jumpered across the switch to get the low beams working so I could get to Yuma and find a Chevy dealer.

On my 93 the switch is at the bottom of the column near the floor . It is a standard GM switch and is adjustable.

Yes , my switch also near the floor , rod adjustment finicky .
Remember when we changed beam with our foot ? Or activated the starter on the old pick up ?

Actually mine is slightly out of adjustment. It works fine if I tilt the wheel clear forward....

Wow!
Many thanks everyone. I will be removing the steering wheel column covers tomorrow and try to fix the rod. Mike, I did the same thing and made it home ok.

I'll let you know what I find.

Loving this coach. 2300miles and counting Smile

Thanks,

We also have the GM tilt, telescope, steering column, but we also have one of those old fashioned floor mounted dimmer switches used in the late 40's. What does it do ? It isĀ  the jake brake switch !

The same vintage Wanderlodges sometimes used those to activate the air horns.
