If your coach is like mine, Newell put down a layer of thinset, then a layer of fiberglass mesh, then another layer of thinset, then the tile. There is a reason it held up so well over the years.

Yes it seems to be just like that so the heated mat is between the second layer of thinset and the tile? I'm using an 1/8 in diamond Burr on a high speed rotatory to take the grout out to the thickness of the tile which is 3/8". Trying not to get into the heating blanket.

I didn’t get into the heating blanket. Both of mine have failed, and I have disabled the circuits.

One of them developed a hot spot that would burn you if you stepped on it. In an abundance of caution with regard to short circuits I turned off the breakers to prevent inadvertent activation
