Forest, for future reference in case we need one, will you post where you found the compressor?

RE: A/C tripping breaker - folivier - 09-12-2013

I've been having problems getting on the forum the last couple days. Seems my mifi doesn't like Tom.
I found the compressor at:
http://www.acpartsupplier.hostedbywebstore.com/2P20S3R126B/dp/B00400ZB0A

I didn't call them but it looks like it is in stock. I'm waiting for an estimate on replacing it from Cresley.

The compressor is in stock at the above website.
Cressley said they do have the compressor in stock and said it would be about $1350 to replace.
I'll probably have them do it when I visit next month.

i have to believe that if you had the unit out and the top off, that a local ac guy should be able to replace that compressor in a less than half a day. counting time to evacuate and test for leaks..

richard, do you agree?

One of the problems is it not having test valves the guy didn't want to just release the R22 into the air.
Is there a way to add a valve without losing the R22?

RE: A/C tripping breaker - encantotom - 09-12-2013

yea, find a more flexible ac guy. dont you have any buddies at home?

if you really insisted, i believe there are valves you can screw on and they puncture the lines, but i wouldnt keep them on the system. http://www.amazon.com/Line-Valve-Sealed-Unit-Parts/dp/B0002YTQ8G

I've thought of waiting and doing that when I get home. I actually saw my a/c buddy at the grocery but didn't think to ask about this. I might try calling him and see if he'll do it. Using the piercing valve would allow him to save the R22. Of course I'd have him solder in valves when he changes the compressor.

Forest,

I am pretty sure I lost a compressor. Can you or anyone else who may have replacement info please post a source. Newell does not have any according to Chuck.

Windings or wiring is shorted to ground.

Forest If in Nacogdoches, Bernd works on these A/C. Call him for a quote. He had two over at his place the last time I was there. Working on them for MOT.
