Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas
#1

Howdy friends,

We are approaching Christmas, New Years, at the end of Hanukkah and such. I love the holidays. Our son Scott, who helped to set up our Gurus Forum is home for a few weeks and it is great to see him. we are proud of his service as an officer in the USAF.

We will have all the kids and grandkids and son-in-law here for christmas day and it will be great.

So many of you are or have become great personal friends of darlene and i that we we feel it a great priviledge to have gotten to know you. for those of you that we don't know yet, we look forward to it and will send you our contact info if you want them.

we love to talk about coaches, family and just about anything.

After living in Israel 2 years ago for 3 months, we got an incredible and emotionally moving feel for christmas and for our dear jewish friends and their beliefs and traditions. We will never forget spending one of the nights of Hanukkah at the Western Wall in Jerusalem with the Rabbi of the Western wall leading the prayers and dancing. It was awesome. We spent that Christmas eve in a kibbutz hotel in Galilee on the sea of Galilee with our two youngest kids, scott and heather and huddled around a 6" high USB (from my laptop) powered christmas tree having darlenes cinamon rolls and going to christmas day church services at a chapel overlooking the sea of galilee the next morning.

we love christmas, what it means to our family and friends and for our faith.

this is a real departure from what i normally post but wanted to share my thoughts of christmas with you and hope that each of you enjoy this time no matter where you are, what circumstances you are in and whatever faith you embrace.

merry christmas,

Tom (and Darlene too)

Thanks for the post Tom. This is a wonderful time of year. We will have the girls and Melissa's family to our home for Christmas. Lots of extra things going on at church and 3 of us have December birthdays so it offers a busy schedule. The opportunities for the family to get together seem to diminish as time goes by and Christmas has always been an important opportunity for the family to reunite, especially as the family grows smaller due to the passing of parents and kin. Hard to believe at times that I am now the oldest living male of our branch of the Day family.

Owning a Newell has introduced us to what are now some of our very best friends. To all of those who have become friends, thank you! You have made our lives better.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to each of you!!

I second what Tom and Michael have so eloquently written. This is our first Christmas away from home and family, and it is a little painful right now, but there will be Skype Christmas day to bring us a little closer to our kids and grandkids.

Like Tom and Michael, our Newell friends have become some of our best friends, and have enriched our lives beyond measure. Who would have thought back in February of 2008 when we first set foot in our 1982 Newell Coach that we would meet so many wonderful people, and develop such meaningful friendships? So looking forward to Spearfish in June when we we will reacquaint with existing Newell friends, and make some new ones.

A special thanks to Tom and Scott for providing us with this wonderful internet site to keep connected with our Newell family.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy New Years from Clarke and Elaine!

I need to add my holiday wishes to you all as well. Many of your have followed our foibles and adventures as we dove into Newellism this summer. Some of you (Steve) even helped us get home once or twice. I look forward to meeting you all next year in Spearfish. It will be very special holiday for us this year.

Last year at this time I was at Mayo with my parents and we were told my father would have 3-5 months to live. He is today happily confounding all of the specialists and is beating his cancer to the point of golfing again late this year. He still complains about his game but now rather consoling him with "ah I am sure your game will turn around" I simply remind that he was not supposed to be here by now so enjoy every single stroke you take. He and my mother have been very excited about all of this business with our coach and are tickled that you all are coming to their hometown next summer. Have a blessed holiday everyone and be safe.

Weather permitting we will load the kids in the coach for making the triangle trip to Tennessee and SC to see Rhonda's dad and my mom.

I wish the best for you and your families

Merry Christmas everyone. This Christmas is total chaos for Cindy and I as we are trying to move out of the house. Our closing date is now the 26th. We plan to move into the coach on Sunday. Wish us luck.

Christmas is always a special time! We are looking forward to spending time with kids and grand kids when they all come home for a couple days.
Merry Christmas to all my Newell friends.. Thanks to Clarke and Elaine for stopping by last summer. It is great to see you enjoying the freedom that our Newells can provide and allowing the rest of us to live vicariously through your posts.
