I’m here now at Lazy Days, we toured this coach earlier. It has definitely seen better days!

Hi everyone.
Long-time "guest viewer", now signed-up!

We are very interested in this model at Lazy-Days.
We cannot afford a unit over $110k, but do not want our first unit to be a lemon either (significant and very expensive additional repairs due to a poorly maintained unit).

How bad was it from the viewing?
Any other input on this model?
We are having a salesperson make videos, etc.
Live in NC and would really appreciate some objective "non-sales personnel" feedback on this unit.

Thanks!!

I went to see this unit a couple of weeks ago, definitely needs some work/ It has been left without care for quite a while and it shows.

Most of the bays are not closing right (not a big problem),

Driver seat is not in good shape (you can't see that in the pictures, try to lift the header of the seat, for example.)

Not sure if it was because they were not expecting anybody but all the air systems were non functional, it could be just as simple as filling the unit with air.

The aquahot unit had a bad leak and you can tell just by looking at the copper pipes (some of them were badly corroded) I'm guessing that there has been no yearly maintenance on this unit so you will have to have this in mind.

There's one slide and couldn't make it work while visiting, again, it could be just lacking air, they kept repeating, we have no more info on this unit. Also, look at the slide when it meets the floor, there are a couple of chips that are coming off the slide (it seems that it is rubbing the floor while the slide went in and out).

On the passenger side (outside) there are a couple of screw holes (like 10 or so) and I'm concerned that water entered through those holes.

On the roof there is like a platform that is in bad shape, you will need to check if there has been leaks where the bolts attached to the roof.

They said they moved this unit like 2 weeks ago but it was a lie, that unit has been sitting there for quite a while and you can tell by the dirt around the tires.

It needs tires (they will try to tell you the front tires are good).

Unit is plugged in but they said the battery went empty and couldn't start it.

They know nothing about the coach, but when I mentioned to them that I was concerned about the engine maintenance they said it was in good shape (go figure Smile ).

It is a nice unit on the inside but there's definitely a lot of work to be done on this unit.

I live kind of close to this place so if you want something specific I can stop by, take pictures and ask more questions if you want me to.

Hope it helps

Since Newell uses an air bladder for the slide seal I would be very concerned about a coach sitting with no air pressure! There is a 1/4" or larger gap around the slide perimeter that is open to the outside when the air bladder seal is deflated. Good possibility of water damage in that area, especially being in Florida.

Floridian and others - thank you so much for your replies.

Floridian - especially the offer to go and look. We agree the inside looks pretty good to us - we are very good at cleaning and could fix that stuff pretty easily and enjoy it as a hobby as well. The only thing I can't do is fix significant mechanical or electrical issues (lack knowledge and tools) for such complex matters. I'm OK at "tinkering" and chasing down small concerns, but not a engine/transmission/water heater/major plumbing issue guy.
I am very concerned about leaks. The sales personnel indicated they had it in the ship to fix the rear air ride - parts ordered as the unit sits too low in the back. Also, I looked back at the pictures and agree with your observations about the slide. The interior "closet" area somewhat made over to be a "bunk", but they had to spend approx $4k to fix that area? Seems like water may have been an issue? This appears too problematic for us. At this price point, we would need something more reliable. Thinking about an older non-slide. Lastly, this coach does not have "actual" mileage. Buyer beware.

if you have to judge by the interior you’ll buy it, no doubt. I saw the mattress in the rear closet acting as a bunk bed too.

I don’t think they are really expecting to sell it anywhere close to the asking price.

We like it but are worried.
Checking mileage by DDEC? (Sorry if I got that wrong)
Dealer is not a Newell specialist, they do not know much about the coach. Apparently it was brought in on trade.
They are selling it with mileage unknown on the title.  Meaning, they cannot verify and would only sell in that manner.  Is there a way to educate them to get the mileage.  Then they would need to be convinced to process paperwork?

They are interested in selling.
The paint is not original, shows as if it was "wrapped".
Other observations from Floridian and others about overall condition and concerns?

Would you consider?  What would be a fair offer price? Cool
