Thanks Steve! Since I removed 5 of the 6 coach house batteries yesterday removing the ground should be much easier! Now I have to figure out if I want to go all out Lithium or back to Gel/AGM/Lead Acid batts!

The best place to buy the AGM is O'Rilley $405 plus tax. My last batteries (8) were purchase in 2013 and I am just know buying some new ones. I had a auto gen start and never let them get below 11.9 before the Gen started. I had the coach for sale and batteries were not maintain and used as should have. I now have the coach back in my Garage with daily checks. The AGM's when dry camping would keep the necessary electrical going 8-10 hrs between Gen running. In my opinion AGM, properbly used do great for me.

I also unplug the aquahot ecu. You shouldnt have a problem stick or mig welding. Hi frequency tig is much more likely to zap something.

Both the Detoit Diesel and Allison manuals I have recommend removing both terminals from the batteries prior to welding. Personally, I would unplug the cables from both ecu's in addition.

Thanks Ron - I have not seen AGM’s that cheap anywhere! I’ll call them tonight!

Thanks Richard! I saw that thread - I really want to get Lithium and after talking to Forrest it doesn’t seem like I will need a new charger/inverter right away although we will not be near the coach for days at a time so I may wait and hold out with only 1 house 8D battery until we start planning our next trip.
I think solar may be a next after the batteries - I still need to get rid of the satellite dome on top and either get a smaller dome or just leave it off totally. I would like to have Satellite TV but we don’t use it enough to justify the cost of any of it...

The direct current flow from the welder is obvious - the induced current generated is an easy one to miss.
So, in addition to disconnecting the batteries (both + & - ), I unplug anything with sensitive electronics at the device to reduce the possibility of induced current causing problems.
