Travel height
#1

Hello Gurus,

Fairly new here. What is the correct travel height on our coaches? Mine seems pretty low in the back end. The hitch seems to drag quite often going across curbs and backing up a small incline.

i do my 02 to 12 inches. dunno if the steerable tag makes a difference or not.

that said, my coach has the zillion pound 2 1/2" receiver for pulling a sherman tank, so at ride height, it is about 6 inches off of the ground.

Something else to look into is air pressure. What is your air pressure running when the engine is on? You need 120 psi to properly inflate the rear air bags to travel height. Lower air pressure due to malfunction governor will result in a droopy rear end.

Thanks Gentlemen,

I am at 12” and about half of that at my hitch. My air pressure is also normal. It just must be a “low rider” Newell thing! Thanks for the replies.

Where is this 12” measurement to be made? Do we need to block the coach up before adjusting the HCV? Mine has always seemed really low but the receiver hitch doesn’t scrape on many things...

Just in front of the drive tires and just behind the steer tires. Block it to adjust the HCV's.
