I found this very useful when I rebuilt my 1986 steering column. https://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/wiki...ebuild.pdf

I replaced the steering column in my 1973 coach with one from a wrecking yard. It added headlights and wiper control to the steering column so I was able to remove them from the dash. If you do that, make sure you use relays, most more modern steering wheels aren't designed to carry the amperage required.

Loic,

Welcome

Can you describe the problems you are having?
Can you post a pic of the spare parts you found?
This post may help. https://newellgurus.com/showthread.php?t...D+steering

If you decide to go with a new one, look at a US company, Flaming River. They make nice GM style columns for the hot rod industry.

I took my column to a local guy who specialized in rebuilding columns. Another US company who I have purchased from and am impressed with the quality is ididit

If the extra parts are the ones shown on the paper towel. Those parts are associated with the key lock, the turn signal canceling, and the mechanism that locks the telescoping feature.

So to add to this thread as to what I have found out about the columns that Newell used. They are heavy duty built Saginaw GM columns, I found this on a website that was referenced on here by another member to buy the bearings. The biggest issue that i found is that most of the automotive GM columns you find do not have a splined shaft, they have the round shaft with flat sides. This heavy duty column appears that its the only one with the splined shaft.
I have been working with Loic for a while now getting him parts info for his Wanderlodge and now I am doing what I can to help him with his Newell.
He has contacted this company and they said that he would have to send his column to them to rebuild it, they do no have parts for these columns and they do not have new columns, they have to repair the columns.

Here is the page where I found the column info:
