Hello, All,
I am looking at a 2002 40' Newell with two slides and need some advise. While I know the coach #, I hesitate to write it in order to protect the owner's privacy.

In addition to any opinions and/or suggestions may share, I have some specific questions:
Would a 2002 have IFS?
Is the skin aluminum or fiberglass?
I take it that a 2002 doesn't have steerable tag
Does the generator have an auto start?

Any other pointers would be greatly appreciated.

IFS yes, steerable tag no.

Aluminum skin, end caps are Fiberglas.

The generator did not come with an auto start. The owner should be able to answer that question.

Thank you, Richard, for your quick reply. I asked the owner these questions, he did not know. I had an idea about steerable tag, but did not know the others.

Newell did equip something coaches with a battery autostart module.  It monitored the battery voltage and started the generator if the voltage dropped below the setpoint and subsequently turned it off after a preset time delay.

Full autostart came much later than 2002 as the onboard electronics advanced.

My 2003 came with a generator auto start to turn on the A/C if it gets to warm in the coach and you aren’t plugged in.

I believe this is an early year model 2002. So, we wouldn't know for sure.

Also, what is the height of the coach? If over 13', can it be lowered to 13' or 12' 11'' to be driven in a garage?

My 99 is 12’11”. I have basement airs.

i have 02 coach 608. you are going to be very close on the height. it depends on the raised roof and what you have on it. i made the doors to my garage 15 foot high.
