SCS Dual & Single Basement Units - FREE
#1

Coach 410, 1996
I just removed and replaced my single and dual SCS basement units.
Single unit has brand new compressor and dryer. Charged with NU-22 refrigerant. Works fine.
Dual unit. 2cd stage works fine. 1st stage trips breaker.
Both are free for anyone.
You pay palletized shipping or come and get’um.
We are located about an hour south of Sweetwater, Texas just off I-20.

I replaced with a 24,000 BTU, heat pump, 240v split unit. Outside unit mounted in bay where old single unit resided. There are 2 of 12,000 BTU low floor models in living room.
There is a 750 cfm circulating grow fan sucking on the original 2 stage return air in the living room and distributing through the original ducts to the kitchen, bath room and bedroom.

Yes, please post pictures of your mini split install. I'm curious why you went with a 240vac unit rather than 2 120vac units. Would 2 compressor units not fit in the basement? The only issue (for me) would be limiting yourself to 50 amp hookups or generator use. 30 amp wouldn't supply the 240vac to run the ACs. Just thinking out loud here.
How well does the mini split cool your coach compared to the SCS? I'm sure it's much quieter but does it cool as well?
I like the idea of using the existing ducting and a circulating fan to distribute the cool air!

Yes, I'm still patching my Dometic units to keep them going. I have certainly explored the idea of new mini-splits. Would love to see pics!!!
