What is this?
#1

Okay, so I have another mystery. Right above the driver  cockpit . On the underside of the overhead cabinet, there is something like a trapdoor but not really a trap door. It is hard to describe so I have attached a picture. Also, above the trap door, inside the overhead cab is a box. It appears these items are somehow connect but before I go digging around, I would like to know what it is.
Thanks

Look for a switch somewhere on the dash. There might be a radar detector hidden inside the box.

Absolutely the radar detector housing. Turn on the switch and the radar detector will decent from the cabinet and turn on ready to use. Turn off the switch and it hides itself away and turns itself off.

Bingo. Wow! How cool is that. There is an escort radar book in with all of the manuals but no mention of where it was located. It didn't power on so I'll need to see why. I have a newer passport that looks like it will fit but I'm thinking (realistically) of whether or not I am really going to be driving that fast. But still way cool.
Thanks Oliver and Michael for your insight.
