howdy,

my series 60 has this on the side of the head accessible from the passenger side engine bay.

it is a Detroit Diesel Pro Check 2351544

it has lines in and out of it. fuel lines

only thing i found about it was something about it being an airbleed. when i talked to newell they didnt know what it was.

any knowledge here on this?

tom
Sometime last year I was told on the other forum that this is indeed and automatic air bleed. I had been wondering if it was a secondary fuel filter.
Wow your engine's dirty!
yea, i was hoping the guy next to me in salt lake city would clean it, but no, he was too busy tearing down churches.

Pro check removes any air that has gotten into your fuel line from the fuel pump.
As others have said automatic air bleed. If you stare at it for a while, and trace the in and out lines, you will see that it works very simply, air is lighter than fuel.

It worked great when I pulled the head on my engine. Word was that I needed to bleed the system to get it to crank. A total of two minutes of cranking with a completely dry fuel injection line and it fired.
good to know. thanks richard and others
