Newell Gurus

A while back I mentioned I was looking for replacement red marker lights for my '82 Newell. I can find the amber ones that go on the front cap, but the red ones are no longer available. My good friend Todd Flickema, found some NOS on eBay and I bought 5 and had them shipped to Todd's home in Sioux Falls. I fuilly intended to install them while we were in Sioux Falls, but the weather was not compatible with standing on a tall ladder for a couple of hours to do the job, so i deferred that job until today. I completely removed the old light fixtures and installed the new ones....took just about 2 hours start to finish. I used marine grade clear silicone caulk to seal the bases.

I know I could probably have found some newer marker lights (front and back) that are still in production, and in stock somewhere, but I really prefer to keep the outside of the Newell as close to original appearance as possible. Special thanks to Todd for finding these lights and enabling me to continue to achieve that goal.

I replaced the Lenses on ours a short time ago.

That is it Steve....I'm going to order a few extra lenses.....glad I replaced the entire assembly on the rear ones......

Bought a set of the complete ones from the eBay seller, and 5 additional lens from SLC lighting.
