Progress, we think, 2 steps forward, one back and two more forward.
1975 26' GMC Transmode, Olds 454 FWD converted by cabinet maker to motor home, purchased in Grass Valley, CA
1995 36' Barth ( called by many a baby Newell) Cummins 300
2006 22' Roadtrek Sprinter, 5 cyl. Mercedes diesel, great mileage, not enough headroom, two 5000 mile trips
2006 39' Allegro Bus, Cummins 425, 3 slides
2005 47' Newell #729 (yes there are a few) 4 slides, Detroit diesel 60 series
I'm kind of late to this post, this is our first MH, but here's the history:
Tents - 10 years
1978 HiLo - 5 years
1997 pop up - 4 years
1983 Newell - coming up on 2 years.
Now that the re power is done, I'm planning on keeping it for awhile.

My son and I are very active in his Scout Troop so I still spend 12-20 days a year in a tent.

Scott
Scott,

Tom and I, are ex Scouters. Those were some great years. I need the Newell now to take my two pound tent from place to place (sarcasm)
Ex-scout here also. Not quite to Eagle, but did make Star & Brotherhood member in Order of the Arrow "WWW".
2010 - 2013 a 2000 24' fifth wheel --can't remember the name but we loved it 'cuz it had indoor plumbing & wuzn't a tent
2013 - 2014 a 2009 36' Sierra Forest River fifth wheel with beautiful large windows -just sold it last week & still having a bit of separation anxiety
Jan 2015 - present our 2001 #576 Newell - Hoping to have a long love affair
...to be continued

Wow, wonderful pictures. That 2 story "Penthouse" trailer must have been a handful in traffic. Look like a 29 ft overhang from the rear axle.

Thanks Guy..........The Penthouse, as pictured, has a 19.5' overhang; I will ad a third axel to make it a 17' overhang.  It will certainly be a handful to handle on the road, but it'll be worth it.  Smile
