The Poll is

Now that you are a Newell owner for awhile, if purchasing again would you

A) Choose a Newell or SOB ?

B) Choose based on the "Best Price" ?

C) Buy Only from the Factory or a Dealer for "Warranty" coverage ?

D) No matter, I just want the best looking condition ("looking" is key as we never really know what can happen when you drive off)...
I've been a Newell owner for only 6 months but as of now I can't imagine buying anything but a newell when we upgrade. And upgrade we will at some point as I'd really like some bunks for our kids at some point not to mention my uncontrollable masochistic urge to get new toys Smile
A) Choose a Newell again....
B) Price is always a consideration
C) Bought ours off Craigslist
D) ?
a newell
price is a consideration for everything i buy
i always buy from a private party
?

Definitely another Newell. The rest is negotiable.
Previously owned a Newell and bought another one.

Bought from a dealer only because they had what I wanted.

Since we buy older, it's more a matter of price versus condition than just price.
A - Newell again, of course a year ago I never heard of a Newell...

B - I tend to be a 'best value' guy

C - Looking for value tends to push me towards individuals. Chalk me down as another one from Craigslist.

D - I always thought new paint came in a can. Smile
In need of opinion!
I'm now looking at an '05 Newell. What kind of questions do I ask or what do I look for when it comes to the windows? I've heard stories about windows in Newell's of this age having to be replaced and that it was very expensive.
Also, what of the front axle? Were some replaced and IF the coach has 365 tires on the front is that an indication that whatever needed to be done to the axle was indeed accomplished?
What are "Level One" and "Level Two" maintenance events at Miami?
Would appreciate some opinions!
Thanks-
Tom
hi tom,

an 05 will have the ZF front end/axle i believe. when we were talking to newell about airbags for an 02 in the front, they said that in my vintage they were dana's and changed to ZF when they went to a steerable tag.

i do not know about problems needing the front ZF axle to be replacesd, so maybe someone else can pitch in on that. the 365 tires were an upgrade that alot of people did for the weight capacity. i did it on my 02. i do not know when they started putting 365's on as stock from the factory, but i would guess it was after 05.

the 365's are nice, but they are hard to get. if you have to replace one while on the road, you may be stuck for day or two trying to get one.

i dont take my coach for maintainance to newell so cant speak to level 1 or 2. i can only imagine what they cost.....ha.

as for windows. once again i am not sure if in an 05 they went to the flush windows yet or they are the kind like in my 02. the only issues i have heard of for the windows were the insulated glass seal going and causing fogging. there is a place here in phoenix that fixes that.

All 2005's would have the ZF suspension. The 365 front tires did not become standard equipment until Coach #1230, a 2008. The upgrade to 365's is optional but recommended if you intend to drive over 65 mph. The upgrade would involve new wheels, tires, wheel hubs and fender modifications. If you are comfortable with the 315 tires, none of the other changes are needed.

There was a factory recall on Newell coaches manufactured between January 2004 and July 2008 with se-gi windows. The adhesive used may degrade resulting in the glass panel detaching. Newell should have already performed the service free of charge to change the adhesive. If the recall has not been done, I am sure that Newell would take care of it now.
