[attachment=3102 [attachment=3101] I need to replace this part that my service center found was dripping oil while performing routine service last fall. I believe it is a sensor that was on the drivers side of the series 60. Any help will be appreciated.
Cant say fer sure..Looks like an oil pressure sensor
That's what I suspected also. I guess it would be available from a Detroit dealer or is this added by newell?
I got one from napa. Important thing to know is thread size and pitch, plus full range on the oil pressure gauge
There should be a number on it somewhere. I'd take it to Stoops or to Clarke Service in Fort Wayne.
There are several on eBay but you still need too find a number to make sure..

Larry: when I inquired at the Local Detroit Diesel dealer about a temperature sensor for my 8V92 in my 93 coach they stated that it was installed by the coach builder if it was for the dash gauges. If your sensor is for your gauges then Richard's perspective is all you need.
Thanks for the answers. I can't find any numbers on it so I'll take it to napa to see if they can help. Stoops took it off and they didn't even know what it was. I'll also check with Chuck in Newell parts.
Larry, I looks like a sensor made by NASON which I use on gensets.  I t is for oil pressure and by the terminal arrangement on top I'm guessing is is a switch rather than a sensor ( such as oil pressure which would be a pressure driven variable resistance).  It could be used in a number of applications and the switch's pressure setting determines when the contacts change position.  Most of the switches used on gensets operate at 12psi falling, although  that varies.  The three terminals indicate a "form C" switch which is a common- normally closed- normally open configuration.  I use Davidson sales for the NASON product.  email me if you want their phone number.
Guys I maybe wrong but I had an oil pressure sensor go out on 507 but it was on the passenger side not the driver side forward part of the engine...did they have them in multiple locations.
