After 15 years, the stitching in my Girard awning has let go.  It still works to protect from the sun but I am concerned what wind might do to the disconnected material.  Has anyone ever had their awning restitched?  How difficult is it to remove the material to be sewn or can it be sewn in place?

I have used a upholstery needle and heavy nylon thread to repair a small six inch area in place. If you want to take it loose I also have a sewing machine that will sew canvas
