Mine always stays up and on...
I have an idea. My Winegard antenna control box and my Directv receiver are plugged into a surge protected 110v power strip. Makes sense to fabricate a small 110v LED lignt, install it somewhere around the dash, plug it into the power strip and it will remind you to turn off the power strip which causes the antenna to lower itself and shuts down the Directv receiver.
this morning i put my rfmogul direct tv dish on. i assembled it and got a couple of buddies to help me get it on the roof. i have a 6 foot high scaffolding that we put the dish on and then the two of them got on the scaffold and lifted it up to me on the roof. pretty easy.

i have yet to put the coax and control cable on as i still trying to decide where to put it through the roof.

here are a few pictures

Does the unit use multiswitch or SWM ?

I see a GPS sensor. Does it "know" where you are and use that info to preset the angles?
swm and yes

that is the reason i liked this one. fast aquisition times and the single wire coax into the coach.

while i am doing this i am going to run an extra coax and also an a cat5e so i can put the wireless repeater i got up on the roof.

richard, michael wouldnt come over and help me, so are you coming over to play?

tom
I think I may get to play with Richard before you do Tom....we should be in Huntington, WV in 2-3 weeks at most.

hi clarke. when we visited richard, this is where we stayed. there is not much for rv parks there.

if you go there, you have to realize there is a hairpin curve into the park off of us60. if you are headed west on us60 you will NOT make the turn. we had to unhook the car and stop traffic. we helped another guy who did the same thing.

you have to be headed east on the us60 to make it into the park.

nice enough park.

There is a park near Richard's office which is called Robert Newton Airpark RV Park....this is where Richard stores his coach, and they are also Passport America. I think that's where we will stay. I try to avoid KOA whenever possible.
Ask Richard about it. I have seen it. Tom

Already mentioned it to him.....he was the one who told me it was across the street from his office, and that he stores his coach there.....not looking for a 5 star place......just a place to put my head on the pillow every night.
