Thanks Keith and Richard! Will order a set tonight!
I am revisiting this subject since we will be taking a trip to (HOT) Texas and would love to use the front A/C (if it works). I tried going the NAPA route, sitting in their parking lot (they will not help you figure out what you need) and trying different short (no A/C) belts until I gave up...
Does anyone have the DD number for the 5" pulley please?
How can I check if the A/C pulley/bearings are good? The A/C pulley spins freely with no belt on it but it seems if try to turn on the A/C (or the vent) then the pulleys burn the belts and the belts fail :-(
The ac pulley spinning freely tells you the pulley bearing is OK.

You need to turn on the ignition, without cranking the engine, and then turn on the AC. That will engage the AC clutch. Put a socket on the nut on the shaft of the AC compressor and see if you can turn it. You may have a locked or compromised compressor. It should turn with modest effort. All of this assuming no belts on the AC compressor pulley.
Apparently my fix from before did not work so I am desperately trying to find a V-belt at 3:30am in Memphis, TN :-( I tried the local 24 hour Kenworth but they don’t have any belts that cross-ref with
LONG belts (includes A/C pulley):
-DD 23520032 Detroit Diesel
-Gates 2/9500PB @O'Reilly's

SHORT Belts
-Gates green stripe XL 13A0840 (I think this is for the serpentine belt)
-Carquest 9330XL (this one cross-refs to the v-belt)
It’s going to be a LONG day trying to get to Newell to pick up my parts in OK (7 hours away)...
Finally arrived at Newell Coach in Miami, OK about 5pm today! Please let us know if any of the group is here!
I sat outside of a local NAPA store for about an hour this morning trying different belts and had no luck - the 9330 did not fit and they only had one of each belt in stock. I did discover that the alternator mounts were loose and tightened up everything. The 9500PB (long) belt worked but the alternator would hit the big hose coming down from (I guess) the radiator to the engine so I really needed a little shorter belt. We ended up finding an Advance Auto store that had a big warehouse in the back (not sure how you find these other than asking every store you call). They had all the belts we could ever need. Ended up with a 9545 (long) belt which is about one inch shorter than the 9500 (9 is the width and 50 is the length I think). This belt fit great, got two of them and the alternator was working the rest of the way to Newell. Would love to get belts that fit the ‘short’ route but there is just no adjustment for the belt with the alternator out of the loop. Will check the belts before we leave Newell on Saturday. Planning to take a quick tour of Newell’s plant tomorrow and get my parts for the Automatic Transfer switch so the Generator will work correctly. Been a busy day starting at about 3am this morning so I’m exhausted but happy to be amongst all the pretty coaches!
