Full Version: Front axle locating arms

I have an intermittent rattle in front end, sometimes you can feel it in the steering wheel.
I lifted the front end today and lifted the axle off the ground.
It looks like I have some play in the bushings for the arms that attach to the axle.
I'll start making calls tomorrow to see if I can locate parts.

Does anyone have a source and/or part numbers?

Thanks

Scott
Look for a plate on the front axle that will tell you Manufacturer and Model. That is a start.
So far no luck.
Rockwell (Meritor) supplied the axle beam but not the suspension.
Newell thinks TRW supplied the control arms, but TRW tech support has no records.
I was hoping to get a part # and order parts in advance of tear down to avoid significant downtime in case there is difficulty matching a part.

I'll post what I find (eventually).

Scott
On both the 77 coach and the 93 coach I believe the suspension you are referring to was supplied by Ridewell, it is RAS-227 if I recall correctly. If so the bushings are readily available though changing them requires a thorough alignment.
Does it look like the attached pic?

Thanks

Scott
Found the parts info.
Thanks Jon, that is it.
