Here are the instructions that Newell provides for any one who needs to winterize their coach.

How to winterize your coach

Turn water pumps off.  Drain your fresh water tank and holding tank.  Get 15 to 20 gals of RV antifreeze, get hose & a funnel and put in fresh water tank.  Unhook the ¼” line for ice maker in your plumbing bay.  Cap line off.  If you do not have a spicket on your galley then you need to turn off your filtered water on your panel.  Remove #1 and #2 water filters.  If you have a spicket turn pumps back on, run water in all your sinks until you see pink color.  Turn faucets off.  Flush your toilet until you see pink antifreeze.  If you have washer and dryer, run until you have pink antifreeze in tub then spin tub out.  Your Aqua-hot will have antifreeze run through when running all the inside faucets, shower and stools.  Turn water pump off and leave until you get ready to use coach again, then you drain tank.  Fill with water.  Run all faucets, shower and toilets and washer/dryer until water is clean.  Drain tank and refill with fresh water.  Reconnect ice maker line and install new water filters.
It is much easier to just drive south until temp stays above 32 degrees F. Or keep coach in heated garage.

I like to use mine for short trips throughout the year Big Grin , so parking under cover with heat on works best for me. It doesn't hard freeze here that often, so that makes it easier for this to work. Cool
On my previous 77 and current 93 I would drain the water tank and water heater, connect an air hose to the water hookup hose and cycle around the coach opening one tap at a time until it was discharging fine mist. I would go around a couple times including draining the water heater. I would open the inlet filter and run the 12V water pump between blowing cycles. I then dump antifreeze in all the traps and into the washing machine and then cycle it to pump out the antifreeze. I remove filters and leave the housing empty until after flushing and sanitizing when recommissioning.

On the 93 I've also sometimes bypassed the water heater,, removed filters, hooked a temporary inlet line to 12V pump and pumped antifreeze through the system. I drain the water heater and the hookup hose. Then the washing machine gets an extra dose os antifreeze before being emptied.

Both methods have protected the water system, but need to be thoroughly done.
yea i am glad it is winter. only supposed to be 98 degrees today. october 23rd. what do you think i should do to winterize?

Warm up the hot tub?
I have never winterized mine. I keep it plugged in, keep the furnaces inside and the bay heater set to 55. No problems. Of course it doesn't freeze very often in central Texas.
Thank you, this is helpful. One additional question though, I have a 2004 Quad Slide Coach with Acqua Hot and Whirlpool tub and I'm wondering if I have to do something special for these? The coach is in a building that is not heated and the winters get really cold in Nebraska.

Pam,

See my reply to your Winterizing post.
I live in Ohio and plug my coach into a 20 amp 120 volt and 30 amp 120 volt plugins. This give me 50 amps, but not 220 volts, I think. Newell stats to just plug in the coach, merge the battaries and don't winterize. Do you need a 240 50 amp circuit or will this work? Also, do you need to turn the aquahot electric heat on in the winter or just have the thermostat turned on in the bay where my aquahot system is located?

Thanks,
Jerry
