no doors for driver. have seen or heard of none. real question is why?

tom
I have never used the door really. That is a long jump to the ground. Guys I have fixed things and added things with all of your guidance and really enjoyed it. Could not have done what I have done thus far without all of your help. Crazy thing is that I have yet to meet any of you. This site that Tom and others put together has been awesome.
Many years ago I wanted a driver's door on my next coach. In '99 when we traded up I got my coach that had a driver's door. I used the door exactly one time to exit the coach----it was so awkward to exit out the door and not kill yourself with a fall. After that I only used the driver's door to reach the leveling controls. A driver's door was removed from my list of features I wanted. Funny how your desires change with experience......................
I had a Holiday Rambler with that driver door. That thing popped open on me going down the freeway. No way would I have another.
Back in 2008 I came across a Newell Classic....I think it was a 1983 with a driver's side door.....the only one I have ever seen.....It was a 40 foot coach out in Rialto, CA.
but wait.....a driver's door and only $40K ready to roll?
Thanks for supporting my top-of-the-head thought. I've seen a couple of coaches with driver's doors, and wondered why, too. It seems to me that it would be easier to exit the normal door at a fuel stop, especially if the coach has a mid-entry. None of the coaches that we are really interested in have driver's doors, and I think that a diver's door would be more of a negative than a positive.

Boy has this thread taken on a life! Seven pages so far.
Well David you see we just love spending someone elses money Smile
I understand. I've helped others spend their money, too.
Oh listen to you all trash drivers doors...you're just jealouse. I am fine using that door...so long as I have a climbing harness on and good disability policy.
