Place a low temp cutoff thermostat on cold water incoming pipe near the tank. When incoming water cools off the pipe, pump turns on. I have the t-stat and may have a clip on style, easy mounting
A few years back I had a bus that had a domestic hot water loop busted from an improper winterizing. The "fix" was to use a good size double wall Flat Plate Heat Exchanger and circulate one of the heating loops at the same time with domestic hot water re-piped through the heat exchanger. It works.
I ordered it from Poland, had it custom made there per specs I had at the time ( trying to remember the calculations) and since I paid for design and shipping I got 2. I still have the second FPHE with a custom resin enclosure ready to mount on top of the stainless box of the Aquahot. That bus was sold with that mod still working.....
If anybody wants it, I can dig it up and take dimensions and pictures. $175 plus shipping gets it.

I have a lot more in it but if it is of use to somebody that does not want to change the tank ( $7k) , repair the loop ( time and $$) or add extra domestic hot water capacity to an existing still working unit, this may be the ticket....
We on the subject of aqua hot I picked up some boiler antifreeze and it says to not cut it. Then when looking at the manual it says to cut it with distilled water. So what is it to cut or not? Thanks
joe, you do not use boiler antifreeze unless there is something special about your aquahot. you use the same coolant you use in your series 60.

rudy, if the regular antifreeze gets mixed with boiler antifreeze does it cause any issues?

Joe,

Camco one gallon GRAS Boiler Fluid which has ready to use on the label was used for many years by Aqua Hot Heaating Systems. They recommended that the one gallon size be cut 50/50 with distilled water. Camco has a one quart size that requires two quarts of distilled water to be added for use in the heater.

Lately, AH has moved to Century Brand GRAS boiler fluid which is ready to use in the one gallon container.

I like the Camco Brand. Both brands and other GRAS boiler fluids are fine.

BUT, your 1998 Newell uses regular engine antifreeze, NOT GRAS boiler fluid. Mixing the fluids is not recommended by Aqua Hot.
Thanks Rudy so I put at least one gallon in last year maybe not even sure that is was even a gallon. So should I drain the whole system just to be on the safe side?
Joe, Do not have an clear answer. You might call AH tech support and seek their answer
Ok thanks Rudy I think I will drain it. But I will call them on Friday to see what they say. I don’t know how many gallons it holds. Also where do I access the drain?
Drain is behind the burner below the zone pumps. Drains through the floor. Need a large plastic storage container that you can pump into 3 buckets as it fills up.

Add 5 gallons of distilled water and run zone pumps to flush each heating loop.

It could be one manufacture saying do not mix my fluid with someone else’s because they do not know anyone else’s product. I am not able to say for sure one way or the other.
